The Balearics

Caroline's love for the Balearic islands, particularly Mallorca & Ibiza has been a life-long one. Coupled with her passion for yachting she has spent much time sailing there, visiting friends and lived there in 2018 & 2019. She has painted many scenes of ports, as well as places she loves to visit like Valldemossa and Deia and also taken part in a mural commission at Colegio San Alfonso in Palma de Mallorca.

Holland - Gouda

Caroline's interest in discovering a new place through her passion for painting happened with a bang here in the small historic city of Gouda. Left to paint au plein air Caroline found many quaint sites and met several locals, one being Jackie from her jewellery atelier on Lange Groenendaal who offered to exhibit her paintings for 3 months Dec 20 - Mar 21. Also a part of the Gouda by Candlelight Festival on the 11th December 2020.

Maltese Scenes

Caroline gathers much inspiration from her mother island! Her choice of bright colours and energy in her brush stroke are definitely influenced by the South Mediterranean gusto. Caroline captures her home island well as she has been chosen to represent Malta many times around the world in London, Australia & New York to mention a few. Caroline's most recent exhibition in Malta took place at the Maritime Museum showing her yachting paintings she is so well known for.

Lapa Lisbon

Portugal - Lisbon

Caroline´s sense of adventure and curiosity about the beautiful parts of the world to live never ends. This is documented through her work and Portugal is yet to become another favourite. Caroline´s love for cities that offer more and Lisbon is definitely one! Bursting full of culture, offering plenty of sunshine and light complemented by it´s beaches and vineyards only 15 minutes away from the centre, while situated right on the Tejo river with an epic bridge & sculpture of Christ the Redeemer, make it quite a unique place.  It is also said to be attracting a great artistic crowd. Caroline is part of the Lisbon Artist Circle and participates in Nude Life Drawing Sessions at Casa Atelier, Viera da Silva Museum in Lisbon.

The Caribbean

Caroline fulfilled a dream of hers to cross the Atlantic on board Sailing Yacht Axonite, as part of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers Atlantic Passage leaving Gran Canarias, Canary Islands. On her arrival to St Lucia 18 days later Caroline exhibited the many paintings she had made during the trip.  Japanese pen & watercolour on paper was the technique of choice with the odd splash of shiny acrylic paint. She hosted an exhibition party on the boardwalk on Friday 16th December 2022 at Rodney Bay Marina. The event was a great success inspiring her to keep painting over the last few months and more to come !!

Life Drawing Sessions

Caroline´s passion for drawing can be seen immediately! She begins every painting by sketching what she plans to create as structure and form in her give her a sense of strength. Caroline understands the importance of keeping the hand & eye constantly at work and does this successfully by following a nude life drawing session of the human figure every week at the Casa Atelier part of the Veira da Silva Museum in Lisboa. The session is composed of 3, 5, 10 & 15 minute poses where she captures movement & dynamism using charcoal, pastels and pen & ink. Caroline enjoys this session!

Sculptures

Caroline´s love for sculpture began at a very young age and her most recent commission the Rolex Middle Sea Race trophies 2005 & 2006.  She chose sculpture as part of her Fine Art degree at the National Art School in Sydney and on returning to Malta she began to work under the mentorship of Anglu Agius. Anglu devoted much time to Caroline particularly in how to work in hard stone in preparation for a sculpture project in the south of Brazil.
Caroline looks forward to developing her sculptural skills further ...

i would love to hear from you!
