Theodore Gericault – French romantic painter (1791- 1824) Inspired mostly by his dramatic masterpiece “The Raft of the Medusa”; which she made a transcription of as part of a mural project during Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Emil Nolde - German Expressionist (1867- 1956) Inspired by his seascapes full of strong brushstrokes & vivid colours.
Oskar Kokoscka – Austrian Expressionist (1886- 1980) Inspired by his intensely expressionistic landscapes, full of mood & heavy line in many of his cityscapes. Caroline likes to begin her work with a heavy charcoal line.
