Caroline NavarroCaroline was born in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and brought up in Malta in the middle of the Mediterranean. Her wish to become an internationally acclaimed artist developed after she followed a Bachelor in Fine Arts at the National Art School in Sydney. Beginning January 2020 Caroline´s true sense of adventure took her out to live in Lisbon Portugal where she can now be found painting many of the colourful city sights or as part of a nude life drawing session. Caroline is part of the Lisbon Artist Circle. Most recently Caroline is enjoying the new medium of Japanese pen & watercolour wash which has allowed her to be more immediate and therefore very suitable for her transient lifestyle whether capturing many Caribbean moments on her most recent sailing trip or while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Caroline has an ongoing performance taking place in her studio where people come to get their figure drawn creating an exciting new niche which fits her character & painting style very well! Caroline´s works are very much about the artist herself, effervescent, cheerful and full of vibrant colour, revealing her true love for life. ! |
Caroline´s works are very much like the artist herself, effervescent, cheerful and full of vibrant colour, revealing her true love for life. She can best be described as a Neo Expressionist painter inspired by the French Romantic painter Gericault, German & Austrian Expressionists Nolde, Munch & Kokoshka, the Fauvist Dufy and of course Van Gogh!
Caroline’s works can be found in several public & private collections in London, Australia, Malta, Spain, France, Germany, Croatia, Prague, Slovakia, Switzerland, Japan, Holland, and the US.
